Event Management
Our Task:
BWH was appointed to develop the media relations strategy and assist with event coordination for the multi-million dollar International Terminal Expansion opening event. Brisbane Airport Corporation’s primary goal was to position the expanded Brisbane Airport International Terminal as a world-class facility, conveying to stakeholders its contribution to the economy and positioning Brisbane as an international port.
Communication Initiatives:
- Themed the event under the banner of “Brisbane International Terminal – World Class” combined with the retail sub-message, “The Time of Your Life Starts Here”.
- A total of 10 different media releases were drafted, targeting mainstream news and an array of specialist media.
- A media tour was coordinated for the morning of the official opening event to showcase the new terminal to key media outlets. Interview opportunities with key airport personnel were coordinated throughout the tour.
- Design of invitations and organising keynote speakers to attend the event (including speaking notes).
- Advertorial placement in key Quest publications.
- Developing multimedia presentations.
Evaluation and Outcomes:
- Media tour was attended by 18 representatives of 13 different media outlets.
- 47 pieces of media coverage achieved in local, metropolitan and industry publications as well as TV, radio and online media.
- The pre-arranged photo opportunity featured in eight pieces of print, online and TV media coverage.
