Anthony Fensom

Senior Manager, Financial Communication

Anthony Fensom joined BWH Communication in 2008. He is an experienced practitioner in investor and media relations, having worked for over a decade in the financial and media industries in Australia and Asia.

A consultant to a number of Australian Securities Exchange-listed businesses ranging from top 100 companies to small cap firms, Anthony’s experience spans a range of industries, including mining, energy, biotechnology, property and financial services. This has given him a thorough understanding of the public company environment and the communication needs of its stakeholders, including shareholders, analysts, management, employees and communities.

Joining the ASX in 1996, Anthony spent four years with Australia’s major stockmarket, firstly producing Market Data products for clients from Brisbane and later joining the Surveillance department in Sydney as an assistant market analyst. He also worked for private stockmarket researcher Huntley’s in Sydney, analysing and producing company information for clients.

In 2000, Anthony moved to Japan, joining an English-language Japanese newspaper based in Tokyo. Over the next six years he worked at top Japanese dailies including the Daily Yomiuri and Nikkei Weekly as a full-time journalist, copyeditor, pagemaker, sub-editor, proof-reader and freelance writer, specialising in business and finance-related stories. During this time Anthony also developed advanced Japanese language skills.

Returning to Brisbane in July 2006, Anthony joined an independent financial, corporate publicity and investor relations firm as an investor/media relations specialist. At BWH Communication his work focuses on managing media relationships and shareholder communication strategies for ASX companies.

Having helped companies raise millions of dollars, gain publicity in Australian and overseas media and successfully engage with local communities on resource development projects, Anthony has developed the communication skills necessary to help clients maximise shareholder value.

Anthony holds a Bachelor of International Business (Griffith University) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment (Securities Institute of Australia).
